Char Dham Yatra 2026
The renowned Hindu philosopher and reformer Adi Shankaracharya initiated the Char Dham Yatra in the 8th century to rejuvenate the Hindu faith. Today, thousands of devotees from across the globe participate in this sacred journey.
Char Dham Yatra (Uttarakhand India)
The Char Dham of Uttarakhand is an important Hindu pilgrimage circuit in the Indian Himalayas. It is located in the Garhwal region of the state of Uttarakhand. This hindu pilgrimage Char Dham circuit consists of four sites: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. All these locations are believed to be highly sacred by the Hindu religion. While Kedarnath is home to lord Shiva and Badrinath is home to Lord Vishnu. Yamunotri represent goddess of Shakti Yamuna, and Gangotri represent goddess of Shakti Ganga..
Traditionally, the Chardham yatra is undertaken from the west to the east, thus, the yatra starts from Yamunotri, then proceeding to Gangotri and finally to Kedarnath and Badrinath. The great Hindu philosopher and reformer Adi Shankaracharya initiated the Char Dham yatra in an attempt to revive the Hindu religion during the 8th century. Now, thousands of devotees from all around the world become the part of this holy yatra and experience the eternal bliss.

Day 1:- Haridwar – Barkot / Kharsali (7 to 8 Hrs )
Drive- 205 KM
This morning arrive Haridwar and depart for Barkot , located on the foot of Yamunotri Drive via Yamunotri and visit Kempty Fall on the way. On arrival at Barkot, check-in to your Barkot Hotel / Resort . The rest of the day is free to relax. Dinner and Overnight stay at Barkot.
Day 2:- Barkot / Kharsali-Yamunotri- Barkot / Kharsali
Drive 48 kms- Trek -6 kms
After breakfast, departure for Hanumanchatti (40 Km), Janki Chatti (8 km). From here there is a trek of 6 km to reach Yamunotri Dham you can hire a Doli or a horse, for your trek (Cost Not Included). Yamunotri (altitude 3,291 mts), the westernmost shrine of the Char Dhams, is dominated by Banderpunch (6,361 m). On arrival by afternoon in Yamunotri take a holy dip in Yamuna River and perform Pooja, and take the same route back to Barkot, check-in at Hotel /Camp. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel in Barkot.
Day 3:- Barkot / Kharsali-Uttarakshi (3 hrs Journey)
Drive 85 kms
After breakfast check out from the Barkot hotel and drive to Uttarkashi . On arrival check-in into the hotel. Uttarkashi is situated on the banks of river Bhagirathi and is famous for its historical monuments, Temples & Ashrams. In the evening, Visit the famous Vishwanath Temple. Dinner and Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.
Day 4:- Uttarakshi – Gangotri- Uttarakshi
Early morning breakfast at hotel and drive to Gangotri. Upon arrival at Gangotri take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin Visit the Gangotri Temple. After performing Pooja Late afternoon drive back to Uttarkashi. Dinner & Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.
Day 5:- Uttarakshi – Guptkashi (8-9 Hrs)
Drive 200 kms
After early morning breakfast check out from the hotel and drive for Guptkashi. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day free to explore the Guptkashi town.Dinner and Overnight stay in Guptkashi hotel / Camps.
Day 6:- Guptkashi-Sonprayag- Kedarnath
Drive30 kms Trek 17 kms
Early morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Sonprayag. From where you will start your 20 km trek to Kedarnath. You can hire a Doli or a horse, for your trek (Cost Not Included). On arrival check-in at Govt.Camps/Lodges. Dinner and Overnight at Govt. Camps/Lodges.
Day 7:- Kedarnath – Sonprayag – Guptkashi
Trek20 kms
Early morning you get up before dawn and after taking bath you are at the temple by 4:45 am for the Abhishek to Kedarnath Shiva. After darshan and puja, you come out of the temple and return to the Camps / Lodges. Later you will start the return trek of 20 km from Kedarnath to Sonprayag. The vehicles wait for you in Sonprayag Car Parking and you will drive to your hotel (Guptkashi). Dinner and Overnight at Guptkashi.
Day 8:- Guptkashi- Joshimath- Badrinath (8 to 9Hrs)
Drive 200 kms
This morning, you check out of the hotel at 08:00 am and drive to Badrinath via Joshimath. After driving through some wonderful Ghat road you arrive at Badrinath. On arrival check into the hotel. After some rest and refreshments, you are all set to go to Badrinath Temple for darshan in the evening. Later back to the hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 9:- Badrinath- Rudraprayag/ Srinagar (5 to 6 hrs)
Drive165 kms
This morning, go for Badrinath darshan. After darshan returns back to the hotel, breakfast at the hotel and proceed for Badrinath local sightseeing visit Mana Village vyas Gufa ,Ganesh Gufa and Mata Murti Temple . Afternoon drives back to Rudraprayag via Karanprayag. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day free to explore the Rudraprayag town. Dinner and Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 10:- Rudraprayag/ Srinagar- Haridwar
Drive165 kms
Early morning, after breakfast, you drive downhill to Rishikesh a spiritual city and the Yoga capital of the world. On reaching Rishikesh you will do the Rishikesh sightseeing visit Ram jhula and Laxman Jhula .Evening drive to Haridwar and drop in Haridwar Railway Station.
